the tribulations of waxing your back at home.

This past week has been pretty good over all and this weekend was awesome. This week I ended up meeting with the H.I.M at a hospital in mariana about some document scanning and it seemed to go pretty good. Also got a call from the U.P.S. corporate headquarters and it looks like they are going to use our warehouse space to store computer parts. This weekend was actually a ton of fun! The G.F. and I actually spent almost the entire weekend together and we ended up going to a christmas party.

As far as work goes, things are going pretty good. Every week I am traveling somewhere with tommy to hospitals that are a little out of the way and aren't normal targets for our competitors. Some of these hospitals are small but at the same time the one we visited thursday was atleast the size of our hospital in town. To me, these meetings seem to be pretty good. I mean the services we offer are not cheap and so this is not something that you just see and then imediatley jump on it. The process of setuping up a contract is pretty involved because usually you have to focus on one department and meet with them. If they like it then they will try to get you in a meeting with either the C.E.O. or C.F.O. of the facility. After that it may take awhile to get the funds appropriated for the project. So in nature the process of setting up new accounts is pretty drawn out. In the beginign my understanding was that this was going to be fast and very easy. In all actuality, I think it may take about six months before most of the hospitals start coming through, due to the time it takes to make financial arrangements. But what is really cool is that wednesday a gentleman from the corporate headquarters of U.P.S. called and he is really interested in renting warehouse space from us to store computer parts. In fact he pretty much had already made up his mind that he was going to use us and so tommy and I are meeting with him on thursday. What made me really mad was that when the guy called, I was in the office managers office (Heather). Usually I take all the sales calls because thats what my job was. Instead, she sat there and told the guy that she would be his point of contact and then proceeded to give him her personal cell phone number to contact him with. On top of that he also started asking her questions about our capabilities of which she has really no idea and she was telling him a ton of infothat she had no clue about. Now, his perception is that he has to go through her to do anything with our office which is not true at all. In fact, when I signed on this job my stipulation was that I did not answer to anyone in the office except for tommy, the owner who is practically like a second father to me. But when ever we meet with perspective clients she has nothing to do with the pricing, marketing or implementation of our systems. Her only job is to manage the paper and scanning people and to crunch numbers! That is it!! I did not show my anger outwardly, but I was so pissed my blood was boiling. But I cooled myself off and I took the notes that she took and went into my office and closed the door. I have not approached Tommy about it yet, but if it happens again something is going to have to change.

But this weekend was well needed. Friday night ate dinner with the G.F. and her parrents and then watched a movie and cuddled with her on the couch. That is what I call a nice way to end a long work week. The next day I ended up going shopping for christmas presents and spent over $250 and I still have like three more people to buy for. But after shopping for most of the afternoon the G.F. came over and we did the craziest thing I think I have ever done. I have gotten my back waxed before about a year and a half a go at a professional salon and it wasn't that bad and only took them a little while. Well, last night the G.F. and I tried it on my back. Lets just say that it came out 50% successful. I mean at first it hurt like heck, but after awhile I got used to it and we got on a roll. The only problem was that we didn't know that the more you use, the more leftovers there are left on your skin. So in some places I had some residue wax and that stuff will not come off at all! I mean we tried every thing! Pumice stones, dish soap, alchool, acetone, scrub brushes, and almost everything else! It would not come off! So we had a christmas party in like 20 minutes so I just had to ruff it out and putt on a shirt! Well today I can't even feel it on my back because I guess it fell off but there is some spots that we weren't able to get because of the residue so it looks kind of funny. But I must give my girl friend mad props because she did a heck of a job in sticking with me and didn't wimp out when ever the wax got everywhere. She is A O.K. material in my book and as mentioned before, she is awesome. What sucks though is that the wax is on my counter and in my sink and I am having a heck of a time cleaning it.

Anyways, thats all for this week. I have to go get all my gym stuff packed and get ready for work tomorrow. I should be back next weekend to write again but if anyone has any clue about getting that wax stuff off of things, then please respond. And Yes, I tried the stuff that it came with the kit and it does not work at all.

Best Wishes, Joshua Price
