of my job, beep beep, and inventory....

Both feeling happy and sad, Sunday was my last day of being inventory manager at west marine. The times spent there will always be remembered as my first management position. In fact sunday, which was the day of our inventory, was a long day for which I worked from 9:45 in the morning till 10:30 at night without a single break! whewww...that was my second and last inventory that I will ever do because even though it did go well, it is a ton of stress and preparation to make all things happen at one time. Our actual data count revealed over 90,000 pieces counted and a numerical value of over $1,350,000 making an average price per product around $14-16 which may not sound very high but in the companies perspective it is a nice median. But all things must come to an end and so with the demise of inventory sunday night I stepped down from my position and am currently a fill in emergency worker for them. The good thing is that I am still able to hold on to my huge associate discount which will save a ton of money on boating supplies!!!

My new job, which I have yet to clarify, is quite a leap from what I was doing, is a newer type of business that not everybody is familiar with. My official job title is head of sales, public relations, and a portion of marketing for a data and records management corporation that is in town. What I'm going to be doing is through some marketing attracting new customers, writing new contracts, and servicing are existing customers with the best service possible. Pay wise, I have made a considerable jump both in wages and in comissions and my responsibilities have tripled, which I really like. At West Marine we didn't have that much leeway to make many decisions and you couldn't do anything to go out and attract customers cause you were pretty much puppets of the corporate conglomerate above you but now that I am with a lot smaller company, I have my own phone (which I will get to later), my own personal office, my own computer with a flat screen LCD, company credit card when I need expenses, and a company car when needed. Not only do I make my own schedule but infact I pretty much do what ever I want. Well, I have stuff that I need to do to make projected figues for the company, but if I feel like I need to focus on a sector of the market really hard well then by golly I go out and do it!! So far I love it and tomorrow I am helping setup my office!! If I do well at this job, produce quickly, and play my cards exactly right, I could be making well over what the average household makes, but I will have to push myself to the limit.

Also, I finally came to a summit in my life when my company bought me and is going to pay for the service on my nextel phone!!!! For those that don't know I have been wanting a nextel phone for ages, but I still have my verizon phone. Today though I feel like a million bucks because I love the two way radios. It is just really convient to me to sit in my office and beep out to the guys in the warehouse if I need something or to the secretary or even the owner of the company!! But if anyone wants you can beep me at 186*131442*1 I am also coming to the realization with me working all week long and then having to do all my homework on the weekends that I no longer have time to carry on the search for a significant other which in some ways bothers me, but in other ways doesn't. I think about that I won't have to put up the problems of the relationship but at the same time that I won't have any companion to do anything with. But my total logic behind it is so far I haven't found anyone worth keeping and I can't settle down right now so why even try unless it is God's chosen one for me cause then He will find away. But until that time......

Best Wishes, Joshua Price
